Drywall Taping & Finishing

Hanging drywall is the fast part. Taping and finishing is where a wall either reads flat and smooth under paint or shows every seam and screw. It takes several coats, drying time between them and careful sanding.

What we finish

• New drywall in basements, additions and remodels
• New walls, closets and ceilings
• Bad seams and ridges from a previous job, re-finished

How we finish it

• Paper or mesh tape where each one belongs, and corner bead on outside corners
• Three coats feathered wide, sanded between coats
• Screw heads spotted until they disappear
• Vacuum sanding where it fits, with floors covered and doorways sealed

Finish levels, plainly

Most painted walls get a level 4 finish. Walls under strong side light, or walls getting a glossy paint, are worth a level 5 skim coat over the whole surface so nothing shows. We tell you which one your room needs and price it in writing.
