Basement Finishing

A finished basement is the most square footage you can add to a house without adding on. It is also the project where moisture, egress, ceiling height and mechanical access all have to be sorted out before the first wall goes up.

How we build a basement

• Moisture check and any drainage or sump work first, before anything is covered
• Framing with treated bottom plates and the clearances mechanicals need
• Insulation, electrical, and plumbing rough-in for a bath or wet bar if the plan has one
• Egress windows where a bedroom is planned, because code requires them
• Drywall, ceilings, flooring, doors, trim and paint
• Permits and inspections handled with the town
