Replace a worn-out basement finish with rooms built right from the concrete up. We cover Downers Grove.
Some basements come to us bare, and some come with an old finish that needs to come out. Either way, we start at the concrete with moisture readings on the walls and slab, a sump test and any drainage correction before new framing. The rebuild uses treated bottom plates, proper clearances around the mechanicals, insulation, and electrical and plumbing rough-in where you want a bath or wet bar. Drywall, ceilings, flooring, doors, trim and paint finish it, with permits and inspections handled.
We reach Downers Grove off I-88 and I-355 and work across the village, from Ogden Avenue and Butterfield Road to Main Street and the blocks around the Metra station, in DuPage County. If your basement already has paneling or a drop ceiling from an earlier finish, we pull a section before we price the job, because what sits behind it decides the scope. Paneling glued to block can hide damp spots, rotted plates or wiring that never saw an inspector. We would rather find that at the estimate than halfway through the job.

We remove old paneling, carpet and ceiling tile and haul it away so we can see the walls and floor.
Walls and slab get tested, the sump gets run, and any drainage fix happens before new framing.
Replacement walls sit on pressure-treated bottom plates, framed to leave service room around the furnace and panel.
We inspect old basement wiring and install new circuits, outlets and lighting to code.
We insulate the walls and rim joists and rough in drain and supply lines for a bath or wet bar.
Drywall, ceiling, flooring, doors, trim and paint go in once inspections pass.
A free visit gets us into the basement, and if there is an old finish, we open a test spot with your okay. The written estimate covers tear-out through paint, and anything hidden that turns up later gets priced in writing for your approval first. We pull the permit through the village and book the crew around the inspections. The last step is a walkthrough where we test every outlet and switch and fix what you find.
A free estimate starts with a call or text to (815) 585-1750. If there is an old finish down there, we will show you what is behind it before you commit.
