Walls in your Hinsdale home that hold up under deep colors and sheen, with no joints ghosting through. We finish new board to the level your paint choice calls for.
The paint you pick decides how much of the drywall shows through it. Flat paint hides a lot, eggshell hides less, and satin or semi-gloss shows every difference between the paper and the compound. For flat and most eggshell walls, a level 4 finish with three sanded coats and primer does the job. For dark colors or higher sheens, we skim the whole wall to a level 5 so the surface is one material from corner to corner.
We work in Hinsdale every week, coming off I-294 and along Ogden Avenue, York Road and County Line Road in DuPage County. If your Hinsdale remodel includes a dark accent wall, a painted library or a satin finish in a hallway, tell us the color and sheen before we start. That one detail changes the finish we recommend and the days it takes. Planning a skim coat up front beats adding one after the first coat of paint shows the seams.

Three coats, sanded between, for walls that get a lower sheen.
A skim coat over the whole wall so deep colors and sheen read even.
A drywall primer that evens out how paper and compound take paint.
Every inside corner taped in paper and finished so the paint line stays sharp.
Outside corners beaded and built out so they hold a crisp edge in strong color.
Every wall looked over under a raking light before primer goes on.
We meet at the house, ask about color and sheen, and leave a free written estimate that names the finish level for each wall. If the paint plan changes after we start, say a wall goes from eggshell to semi-gloss, we write up what that adds and you okay it before we do it. The coats dry between visits, which sets the schedule, and we come on the days we agreed. When the primer is on, we look over every wall with you under a work light held low.
