New drywall in your Clarendon Hills home taped, coated and sanded to a finish that is ready for paint, with every seam feathered out.
Taping and finishing is the work between hung board and a painted wall: tape over every joint, bead on the outside corners, and coats of compound sanded until the seams vanish. The trade describes it in levels, and two of them matter in a house. A level 4 finish, with three coats over the tape and every fastener, is right for most walls in flat or eggshell paint. A level 5 adds a thin skim over the whole surface, which is what a wall needs when strong light runs along it or the paint has any shine.
Clarendon Hills is on our regular route, reached along Ogden Avenue, Route 83 and 55th Street, and we cover the rest of DuPage County around it, from Hinsdale to Westmont. If your remodel or addition puts a tall window at the end of a long wall, the light coming in sideways will show every crown and dip in the compound, even ones you cannot see at noon. We look at where the windows sit before we write the estimate and mark which walls should get the skim. That way the extra coat goes only where it actually shows.

Screws set just below the paper, not torn through it, before any tape goes on.
Paper tape embedded in the flat and butt joints and folded into the inside corners.
Metal or paper-faced bead on outside corners, set so each corner stays straight from floor to ceiling.
Two more coats over the tape and every screw head, each sanded, for walls in flat or eggshell paint.
A thin coat over the entire wall where window light or a satin or semi-gloss paint would show the seams.
Each wall checked with a light held at a low angle so any ridge gets fixed before primer.
The estimate is free and written, and it names the finish level wall by wall so nothing is left to interpretation. Coats need to dry before sanding, so we lay the days out on paper up front and book around them. Anything that comes up mid-job, like a wall you decide should get the skim after all, is priced in writing and done only after you approve it. The final visit is a walkthrough with a light, wall by wall, before primer.
