Drywall Repair

Holes, cracks, nail pops, lifted tape and leak-damaged ceilings patched, textured to match and painted so the repair disappears.

Drywall Repair by ONIT Solutions

A good drywall repair is one you cannot find afterward. That takes cutting back to sound board, a proper patch, coats feathered wide, the texture matched and paint that blends. A patch that skips any of those shows every time the light hits it.

What we repair

  • Holes from doorknobs, moving damage and removed anchors
  • Cracks at corners, doorways and seams
  • Nail and screw pops
  • Water-stained or sagging ceilings after a leak is fixed
  • Dented corner bead and tape that has lifted

How a repair is done

  • Cut back to solid board and set a new piece or a backed patch
  • Tape and three coats of compound, feathered wide and sanded
  • Texture matched on textured walls and ceilings
  • Primed, then painted to match, or the whole wall painted when a patch would show

Water damage

We seal water stains with a stain-blocking primer only after the source of the leak is fixed. Painting over an active leak just hides it until it comes back through.

FAQ

Questions about drywall repair

Will I be able to see the patch?
Not when it is done right: feathered wide, texture matched and painted to blend. If a patch would show on an old paint job, we paint the whole wall.
Can you fix a ceiling after a leak?
Yes, once the leak itself is fixed. We cut out damaged board, patch, seal the stain and paint.
How many visits does a repair take?
Usually two or three, because compound needs to dry between coats.
