Trim & Door Painting

Baseboard, casing, crown, stair rails and doors filled, caulked, sanded and finished in enamel with clean lines at the wall.

Trim & Door Painting by ONIT Solutions

Trim and doors are where a paint job gets judged up close. A wall can hide a lot, but a baseboard with open nail holes, a casing joint that has split or a door with drips shows from across the room.

What we paint

  • Baseboard, shoe, casing and crown
  • Window trim and sills
  • Stair rails, spindles and skirt boards
  • Interior and exterior doors

The prep that makes trim look sharp

  • Nail holes filled and sanded flush
  • Joints and gaps at the wall caulked
  • Glossy old paint sanded, and a bonding primer over old oil-based paint
  • Enamel in the sheen you pick, with a clean line against the wall

Doors

Where it gives a better finish, we take doors down and paint them flat, then rehang them once they have cured and put the hardware back on.

FAQ

Questions about trim & door painting

Do you take the doors down?
Where it gives a better finish, yes. We paint them flat, let them cure and rehang them with the hardware back on.
Can you paint over old oil-based trim?
Yes, with a sanding and a bonding primer first. Without that, new paint can peel off oil-based paint.
Can you just do trim, without the walls?
Yes. Trim and doors are a job on their own.
