Front, back and garage service doors on your Hoffman Estates house that look sharp and shed rain again. We take the hardware off and paint the edges, not just the face.
We paint doors and trim inside and out: entry doors, garage service doors, exterior casing and brick molding, plus the baseboard, casing, crown and doors inside the house. Every surface gets cleaned, filled, caulked and sanded before primer, and old oil paint gets a bonding primer. Hardware comes off, so there is no tape line around a knob or hinge. Every door goes back together with its hardware once the paint has cured.
We work in Hoffman Estates every week, reached on I-90 and Route 59 and along Higgins Road, Golf Road and Barrington Road, in Cook and Kane counties. Exterior doors and trim get painted from spring to fall on dry days above 50 degrees, and we watch the forecast so the paint has time to set before rain. On an entry door, the top and bottom edges take water first, so we seal both. Where the brick molding around a door has gone soft at the bottom, we replace that piece instead of painting over the rot.
Front and back doors get the hardware off, the faces and edges sanded, primed where bare and finished in exterior enamel.
The side door into the garage gets the same prep and sealed edges as the front door.
The exterior trim around each door gets scraped, caulked at the siding or brick and painted.
Soft wood at the bottom of door trim gets cut out and replaced with a new piece before paint.
Seals and thresholds get masked or pulled so paint does not glue the door shut or ruin the seal.
Inside doors come down and get painted flat, and base, casing and crown get filled, caulked and enameled.
We come out, look at each door inside and out, and write a free estimate naming the doors, the trim, the prep and the paint for each. Rot found under old paint gets shown to you and priced in writing, and we only replace it once you approve. Exterior work is scheduled around the weather, and we book around the days we said. When the doors are back together, we walk them with you and touch up anything you point to.
