If you want to trade stained trim for a painted color, we prep it so the paint stays on the wood instead of chipping at the first bump. We cover Minooka for trim and doors, inside and out.
We cover Minooka, and here a trim job can mean a fresh coat on painted trim or a full switch from stained wood to paint. Either way, the work is in the prep. Holes get filled, joints get caulked and anything with a shine gets sanded dull. Stained or varnished wood and old oil paint get a bonding primer, and knots or bleeding wood get a stain-blocking primer so nothing yellows through the finish.
Minooka spreads across Grundy, Kendall and Will counties, and we reach it on I-80 and Route 6, with Ridge Road and McLindon Road getting us across town. Channahon, Shorewood and Joliet sit right next to it. If your trim and doors are stained wood with a clear coat, paint will not hold on that slick surface without the right steps. We scuff-sand every piece, wipe off the dust, prime with a bonding primer and only then start the enamel. Skipping those steps is why painted-over varnish chips off the first time a vacuum hits it.

Varnished or lacquered trim gets sanded until the shine is gone, which gives the primer something to grab.
A primer made to stick to slick finishes goes over the stained wood before any color.
Knots and some woods push a yellow stain through paint, so those spots get a stain-blocking primer.
Nail holes, dents and open grain get filled and sanded if you want the painted trim to look smooth.
Stained doors get the same prep and come down to be painted flat where that gives a better finish.
Caulk goes into the gaps first, then the enamel gets cut straight against the wall color.
We look at the trim with you, figure out what finish is on it now, and write the estimate on site for free. The scope says which rooms, which doors, which primers and how many coats. If something comes up we did not plan for, like a cracked casing or a door that will not hang straight, the fix is priced in writing and you approve it first. We book around the days we said and go over every room with you at the end.
