Cabinet Refinishing

Kitchen, bath and built-in cabinets cleaned, sanded, primed and sprayed in a durable enamel, without the cost of new boxes.

Cabinet Refinishing by ONIT Solutions

If your cabinet boxes are solid and the layout works, refinishing gets you a new-looking kitchen without tearing anything out. The finish has to stand up to hands, water and cleaning, so the prep and the product matter more here than on any wall.

How we refinish cabinets

  • Doors and drawer fronts removed, labeled and taken to a work area
  • Hardware bagged, or swapped for new pulls at the same time
  • Every surface cleaned and degreased, then scuff-sanded
  • Dents and gaps filled, then a bonding primer
  • A durable cabinet-grade enamel, sprayed for a smooth finish
  • Boxes and frames done in place with the kitchen masked off

Living without your doors

The kitchen is partly out of use for several days while the doors cure. We tell you how long before we start, so you can plan around it.

When refinishing is the wrong answer

If the boxes are water-damaged, the shelves are sagging or you want a different layout, paint will not fix it. We tell you that at the estimate, and our kitchen remodeling crew can price new cabinets instead.

FAQ

Questions about cabinet refinishing

How long will my kitchen be out of use?
Several days while the doors cure. We give you the schedule before we start.
Can you change the hardware at the same time?
Yes. If the new pulls use different holes, we fill the old ones before we paint.
Will painted cabinets hold up?
With proper cleaning, sanding, a bonding primer and a cabinet-grade enamel, yes. Skipping any of those is why painted cabinets chip.
