Built-in buffets, bookcases and kitchen cabinets in your Lockport house painted with a hard finish, while the woodwork you want to keep stays protected.
Cabinet refinishing puts a new painted finish on the cabinetry you already have, from kitchen runs to bath vanities to built-ins. Doors and drawer fronts are removed and labeled, hardware is bagged, and every surface is degreased, scuff-sanded and filled. We follow with a bonding primer and a cabinet-grade enamel, sprayed for an even coat. Anything that cannot come down, like boxes, frames and built-in cases, is painted in place with the room masked.
Lockport is on our regular route, from State Street and downtown Lockport out along Route 7, Route 171 and Farrell Road near the I&M Canal. Where an older Lockport house has a built-in buffet or bookcase, it may sit right next to stained trim or floors the owner wants left alone, so the masking has to be exact. If the built-in has old varnish or shellac on it, we clean and sand it and use a primer that bonds to that kind of finish before any enamel goes on. Some people paint the kitchen and leave a built-in stained, and we can work either way.

Buffets, bookcases and window seats are masked off from the walls and floor around them and painted where they stand.
Trim, floors or doors you want to keep stained get covered tight so no primer or enamel lands on them.
Varnished or shellacked surfaces are cleaned and sanded, then primed with a product made to grip that finish.
Every removable piece is tagged to its opening, and hinges and pulls are bagged by cabinet.
Kitchen surfaces get a full degrease so the primer bonds to the finish, not to cooking film.
A cabinet-grade enamel goes on in sprayed coats for a hard surface without brush marks.
We walk the house with you, look at each cabinet and built-in you want painted, and give you a free written estimate. If old finish fails or a piece is damaged in a way nobody could see, we price the fix in writing and you approve it first. You get the schedule before we begin, including when the kitchen will be partly out of use. We end with a walkthrough of every painted piece.
Call or text and we will come look at your Lockport kitchen and built-ins and write out exactly what gets painted.
