Stair rails that feel smooth under your hand and spindles with no drips at the base, painted one piece at a time. Lemont is on our regular route.
Trim painting is detail work, and we treat it that way: baseboard, casing, crown, window trim, stair rails, spindles and every door you want done. Each piece gets its nail holes filled, its open joints caulked and its old gloss sanded down. Where the old paint is oil-based, a bonding primer goes on before anything else. The enamel is brushed or sprayed depending on the piece, in the sheen you choose.
Lemont is on our regular route. We come in on I-355, Route 171 or Lemont Road, cross the Des Plaines River and the I&M Canal, and work up into the hills and bluffs on the Cook County side next to Homer Glen and Lockport. If your house has an open staircase, the rail and spindles are where a paint job shows its care or its shortcuts. We sand and brush each spindle on its own so paint does not pool at the joints, and the handrail gets a smooth final coat because it is the one piece everyone touches. Treads and stair skirts get masked off or painted, whichever you want.

Each baluster gets sanded, primed where needed and brushed so there are no drips or thick spots at the top and bottom.
The rail gets a light sand between coats so it feels smooth, not gritty, when you run a hand down it.
The trim board running along the stairs gets filled, caulked at the wall and painted to match.
Posts get the same prep, and stained caps can stay stained and get masked off if you want the contrast.
The rest of the trim in the house can be done in the same visit, holes filled and lines cut clean.
We check whether the old trim paint is oil-based and prime it with a bonding primer so the new enamel holds.
The estimate is free and in person, and we count spindles and doors so the written scope matches what is in your house. It lists the prep, the primer, the sheen and the coats. If something new turns up, like a loose spindle or a cracked rail joint, we price the repair in writing and wait for your approval. We plan the stair work so you can still get up and down each evening, and we walk the finished work with you.
Picture your staircase with rails and spindles freshly done, then call or text (815) 585-1750. We count every spindle on the visit and price the job on paper.
