Exterior Painting

An exterior paint job fails from the bottom up: bare wood that was never primed, caulk that has opened, rot that got painted over. We spend the time on those before any color goes on, because that is what makes the next repaint years away instead of two summers.

The prep

• Wash the surfaces so paint sticks to wood, not dirt
• Scrape loose paint and sand the edges smooth
• Replace rotted trim and siding boards rather than painting over them
• Prime bare wood and renew caulk at every open joint
• Cover landscaping, walks and the driveway

Weather

Exterior work runs spring through fall, on dry days warm enough for the product to cure. We schedule around the forecast and tell you when a day moves.
