Exterior Painting in Shorewood

We paint Shorewood houses without wrecking the yard: beds covered, shrubs tied back, and every wall washed and prepped before the paint goes on.

Shorewood exterior painting with the yard protected

Paint fails when it goes over dirt, mildew or loose old coatings, so our exterior jobs open with a wash and a careful scrape. We sand the rough edges, prime bare wood, replace any soft boards and renew caulk at every gap. Then the finish coats go on siding, trim, soffit, fascia, doors and shutters, brushed by hand on the details. The written estimate lists each surface and how we will treat it.

We cover Shorewood regularly, coming in on I-55, Route 59, Route 52 and Black Road. Where a Shorewood lot has mature trees or sits close to the DuPage River, walls stay damp longer and green growth shows up on the shaded sides, so our wash includes a treatment that kills it. Trees and shrubs close to the house also mean branches against the siding, and we tie them back or ask you to trim before we start. Mulch beds and foundation plantings get covered every day, and paint chips are cleaned out of them before we leave.

What our Shorewood exterior work covers

Wash and mildew treatment

Every wall is washed, and shaded sides get a treatment that stops green growth from coming back under the new paint.

Shrubs tied back

Plantings next to the house are tied back or wrapped so we can reach the siding without breaking branches.

Scrape, sand and prime

Loose paint is scraped off, edges are sanded smooth, and bare wood gets primer before any finish coat.

Siding and trim painted

Lap siding, shingle siding, corner boards and window trim are painted, with caulk renewed at the joints.

Doors and shutters

Front doors, side doors and shutters are prepped and painted to match the trim or stand apart from it, your call.

Beds and walks covered

Drop cloths go over beds, walks and patios, and chips and debris are cleared out at the end of each day.

How a Shorewood job is scheduled and finished

You get a free written estimate after we walk the house with you, with every surface, its prep, the product and the coats listed. When you approve it, we set start dates on dry days above 50 degrees and book around the days we said, moving only when the weather forces it. If scraping uncovers rot that was not visible during the estimate, you get the price in writing and decide before we touch it. We finish by walking the yard and the house with you.

  • Shaded walls treated for mildew
  • Plantings tied back and protected
  • Rotted boards swapped for new wood
  • Scope and coats spelled out in writing
  • Chips raked out of the beds
  • Final walk of the house and yard
FAQ

Exterior Painting in Shorewood: questions

My north wall turns green. Will new paint fix it?
Paint alone will not. The growth has to be killed and washed off first, and the wall needs to dry before primer. After that a good paint job resists it much better, though trimming back the trees that shade the wall helps most.
Is a permit needed to paint a house in Shorewood?
Painting by itself generally does not need a permit. If the job adds siding replacement or other building work, we check with the Village of Shorewood and pull what is required.
How long will my house take?
It depends on the size, the prep and the weather, and the written estimate gives you a day count. Painting runs spring through fall on dry days above 50 degrees.
Which towns around Shorewood do you work in?
We also cover Minooka, Channahon, Crest Hill and Joliet.
