A new ceiling in your Lombard home finished flat and smooth, even with recessed lights shining across it. We tape and coat overhead with the floor and furniture covered below.
Ceilings are where drywall finishing is hardest to hide. Light from windows and recessed fixtures skims across them, and every joint runs overhead, where compound wants to sag. We tape ceiling joints with paper bedded firmly, keep butt joints feathered extra wide, and lay the coats thin so they dry hard without slumping. The corner where ceiling meets wall gets taped straight, and openings for new lights are finished clean so the trim rings sit tight.
Lombard is on our regular route, off I-355 and along Roosevelt Road and St. Charles Road, and we work the neighborhoods out from Main Street and Lilacia Park and the rest of DuPage County around them. If your Lombard project is a new basement ceiling, a main-floor ceiling replaced after a leak was fixed, or new board laid over a cracked old ceiling, the finishing approach is the same. Recessed lights in a new ceiling are the hardest test, because each one throws light sideways across the joints. We finish to that standard and check the ceiling with the lights on before primer.

Paper tape pressed firmly into every ceiling joint so it does not bubble or let go.
Butt joints on the ceiling feathered across a wider band so no hump catches the light.
Compound laid on thin overhead so it dries hard without sagging.
The inside corner around the room taped and finished in a straight line.
Cutouts for recessed lights and fixtures finished so the trim rings sit flat.
Floors and furniture covered and sanding dust collected under the work.
Our first visit is free: we check the ceiling, the lighting plan and the fastening, then write up the finish level and the schedule. If the fastening is too thin to hold or a joint has no framing behind it, we write up the fix with a price and wait for your okay. Overhead coats need drying time like any other, so we set the visits up front and book around the days we said. The last check happens with the lights on, together, before primer.
