Baseboard and shoe molding with a clean line at the floor and the wall, painted to take vacuums and scuffs. We paint trim and doors throughout Villa Park.
The trim at the bottom of the wall takes the most abuse in a house, from vacuums, shoes, chair legs and mops. We clean off the grime, fill the dents, caulk the top edge where it meets the wall and sand the surface so new paint grips. Bonding primer goes over old oil-based paint, bare wood gets primed, and the finish is a hard enamel. The same prep carries up to casing, crown, window trim and the doors themselves.
Villa Park is on our regular route, reached by Route 83 and North Avenue, with St. Charles Road and Roosevelt Road crossing town in DuPage County. If you just put in new floors, or are about to, it pays to time the trim painting around them. New shoe molding goes in after the floor, and painting it then means one clean line at the floor instead of touching up against new planks later. We mask the new floor edge with a low-tack tape that will not pull the finish.

Baseboard degreased and washed so paint is not laid over dirt and scuff marks.
Vacuum and furniture dings filled and sanded flat before primer.
The gap between baseboard and wall caulked for a straight paint line.
Shoe molding painted with the floor edge masked by low-tack tape.
Door and window casing and crown filled, caulked and enameled in the same sheen.
Interior doors painted on all faces and edges, with hardware removed or masked.
We measure what you want painted and give you a written estimate with the prep, primer and enamel for every room. If you are having floors done, we can line up our days with the flooring so the shoe molding is painted once. When something comes up mid-job that the estimate did not cover, we show you, price it in writing and wait for your OK. Last, we walk each room with you and handle the touch-ups.
