Build a rec room or movie room downstairs with a ceiling that looks finished and still lets you reach a shutoff. We work in New Lenox every week.
The ceiling is the biggest look-and-feel decision in a basement, and it gets made early. Drywall gives the cleanest, most finished look, while a drop ceiling keeps valves, junctions and duct dampers reachable. Some jobs use both, drywall over the main room and a drop section over the utility side. Before any of that we check for moisture and do any drainage or sump work, then frame on treated bottom plates, insulate, run the electrical and plumbing, and finish with flooring, doors, trim and paint.
New Lenox is on our regular route, off I-80 and Route 30, with Cedar Road and Laraway Road taking us across the village and the Old Plank Road Trail running through it. For a movie room, we plan the wiring for a screen, speakers and dimmable lights before the ceiling closes, because pulling wire later means cutting drywall. If a gas line or a main water line runs across the middle of your basement, we either box it in with an access door or put a drop section under it. Full design-and-build basements are run by ONIT Restoration, the same company with a crew that does basements all day, and ONIT Solutions handles partial finishes, single trades and repairs to a finished basement.

Walls, slab and sump are checked, and drainage or pump work is done before framing.
We pick drywall, a drop ceiling or a mix room by room, based on what needs to stay reachable.
Wire for a screen, speakers and dimmable lighting is run before the ceiling closes.
Walls sit on treated bottom plates, outside walls get insulated, and the furnace, water heater and panel keep their code clearance.
Lines for a bath or wet bar go in and get inspected before the walls close.
Flooring goes down, and doors, trim and paint finish the room.
We come out for free, check for moisture, and talk through how you will use the room and where the ceiling needs access. The written estimate lists the ceiling, wiring, framing and finishes separately so you can weigh drywall against a drop ceiling. If something hidden turns up when the old ceiling or walls come down, we price it in writing and you approve it first. We book the village inspections and keep to the days we gave you. Once it is done, we walk the room with you, dim the lights and test every outlet.
The time to decide on wiring is before the ceiling closes. Call or text (815) 585-1750 and we will put the ceiling and media plan on paper.
