Your Joliet porch, front door or old stained trim brought back, with the failed finish stripped off and new stain worked into clean wood.
Stain only works on wood it can reach. When an old finish is cracked, peeling or built up in layers, we strip or sand it back before anything new goes on. Rotted boards, loose treads and split pickets get replaced, and the whole surface is cleaned and brightened. Then we stain, by brush wherever the detail needs it, and seal interior work with a clear coat.
Joliet is on our regular route, and we reach it on I-80, I-55, Route 30 and Route 53. Where an older Joliet house still has a wood porch, layered railings or stained oak trim inside, the work is often more stripping than staining. Old finish has to come off before the wood can take new color evenly, and that prep is listed on the estimate so you can see where the hours go. If your house is newer and the deck has never been sealed, the job runs the other way: a good cleaning and a first coat.

Peeling and layered coatings are stripped or sanded off so the new stain reaches bare wood.
Wood porch floors, treads and risers are repaired where they are soft, then stained or sealed for foot traffic.
Stained trim, doors and banisters inside are cleaned, sanded and refinished to match what is already in the house.
Rails and balusters are stripped and sanded by hand where machines cannot reach, then stained to match the deck or porch.
Soft treads, split pickets and rotted deck boards come out before stain goes on, with new wood cut to fit.
Handrails, doors and interior trim get a clear topcoat over the stain so hands and cleaning do not wear it through.
We start with a free on-site estimate and write down each surface, how much stripping it needs and what stain goes on. You approve that written scope before anything is scheduled. Stripping sometimes uncovers soft wood nobody could see, and when it does, we price the repair in writing and get your okay first. We keep to the days we booked unless the weather leaves the wood wet, and we walk the work with you before we pack up.
