Get a Joliet floor that sits flat and level at the doorways, laid on a sound subfloor instead of over whatever was there before.
We put down luxury vinyl plank, tile, laminate and engineered hardwood, plus tile in baths, entries and laundry rooms. The step most people never see is the prep: each product has a flatness spec, and the floor has to meet it before installation starts. We find the humps and dips with a straightedge, then level, patch or sand until the surface is right. When the floor is in, we finish it with base, shoe and transitions so nothing is left raw.
Joliet is on our regular route, and we get across the city on I-80, I-55, Route 30, Route 53, Jefferson Street and Larkin Avenue, with the Des Plaines River running through the middle. Where a Joliet house has had one floor laid on top of another over the years, each layer raises the floor and hides what is underneath. Luxury vinyl can go over flat, sound tile or sheet vinyl, but not over a stack that flexes or a layer that is coming loose. We cut a test spot, see what we are standing on, and tell you whether we can go over it or need to take it down to the subfloor. That also keeps the door swings and the height at each transition where they should be.

We open a spot to see how deep the old floors are stacked and whether they are bonded tight.
Where layers have to go, we take them down to the subfloor and haul the debris away.
Soft or water-damaged panels get cut out and replaced so the new floor has something solid under it.
Casings and jambs get undercut so the new floor slides beneath them instead of being caulked against them.
Luxury vinyl, laminate, engineered hardwood, or tile in the bath, entry or laundry room.
Thresholds and reducers sized to the actual height difference at each doorway.
We visit, measure, and make that test cut before we write the estimate, so the price reflects what is really under your feet. The estimate is written and lists the removal, the subfloor work and the new floor on their own lines. If tear-out uncovers something the test cut did not, like rot near a toilet or an old leak, we stop and price it in writing for your approval. We set the install dates with you, work room by room, and walk the finished floor with you at the end.
A test cut tells us whether the old floor stays or goes. Call or text (815) 585-1750 and we will set up the visit for free.
