TVs, cabinets and grab bars that hold because there is solid wood behind them. We frame, block and finish walls in Itasca homes, with the room sealed off from dust.
Most drywall problems start with what is behind the board. When we frame a wall, open one for a repair or build out a closet, we add solid blocking wherever something heavy will hang: wall cabinets, a mounted TV, floating shelves, a handrail or a grab bar. Then the wall gets hung, taped and finished to a smooth surface ready for paint. We also repair holes, dents and cracks, and set moisture-resistant board in baths.
Itasca is on our regular route by I-290 and Route 53, with Irving Park Road and Thorndale Avenue taking us across town and the Metra station near the center. Grab bars are a common request in bathroom work, and getting them right means planning before the wall is closed. We set the blocking at the heights you want and show you where it sits before the board goes up. It adds almost nothing to the work at the framing stage and saves cutting into a finished, tiled wall later.

Lumber goes between the studs at the right heights for cabinets, TVs, shelving and rails.
Blocking sits where grab bars belong at the tub, shower and toilet, so bars can go on now or later.
We frame closets with a header over the door and blocking for rods and shelves, then hang and finish the board.
Moisture-resistant drywall goes on bathroom walls and ceilings outside the tiled areas.
Damaged board gets cut back to the framing, patched and feathered out until the repair vanishes on a flat wall.
Floors stay covered, plastic stays up at the doorway, and the room gets cleaned before we hand it back.
A free visit gets you a written estimate that lists each wall, what goes inside it, the board type and how the room gets protected. Tell us everything you plan to hang, and we will put the blocking on the scope so nothing gets left out. If opening the wall turns up a cracked stud or a pipe in the way, we write up the change and wait for your okay. Finishing runs across several visits for drying, and the last one is a walkthrough with you.
Send a list of what you want mounted, or call or text (815) 585-1750. We will plan the blocking on site and write it into the estimate.
