Restoration Rebuild

Drywall, insulation, flooring, trim, cabinets and paint put back after any loss, with the scope written while the house dries.

Restoration Rebuild by ONIT Solutions

After the Equipment Comes Out

Drying stops the damage. The rebuild is what gets your house back. Once the readings show dry and the equipment is out, the walls are open at the bottom, the floor may be bare, and the kitchen or bathroom may be missing pieces. Putting all of that back is the rebuild. Most people do not want to think about it while the fans are still running, and that is fine. We do the measuring and writing during that time, so there is a written scope to look at when you are ready.

ONIT Solutions is a home repair and remodeling company, so rebuild work is our regular trade: drywall, insulation, framing, flooring, trim, doors, cabinets, kitchens, baths and paint.

The Scope Is Written While It Dries

The gap between drying and rebuild is where a job can sit. We close it by measuring and writing the rebuild scope while the drying equipment is still running. The estimate is itemized line by line in the pricing format insurance carriers use, so it is ready for you and the adjuster when the readings show dry. You get a copy of the rebuild estimate, the same as the adjuster.

We meet the adjuster at the house if they want. If the carrier's scope misses something, like insulation behind a flood cut or flooring that runs into the next room, we explain it and send a supplement. The rebuild is scheduled once the scope is approved, and how long approval takes is up to your carrier.

What We Rebuild

Most rebuilds touch several trades at once. One company is responsible for all of it, so you are not lining up a separate drywall, flooring and cabinet contractor. Before new flooring goes down over a slab that was wet, we test it for moisture and check that the subfloor is flat.

  • Framing repairs where wood was damaged
  • Insulation and drywall, taped, finished and painted
  • Baseboard, casing, trim and doors
  • Luxury vinyl plank, laminate, engineered hardwood and tile flooring
  • Cabinets, and full kitchens and baths when the loss reaches them
  • Siding and trim repair, decks and basements

Matching What Was There

The goal of a rebuild is a house that looks the way it did before the loss. We match trim profiles, paint colors and flooring as closely as the materials allow. Paint is matched to the walls that stay, and trim to the profile already in the house. When a product is no longer made, we tell you before anything goes in and price the options in writing for you to choose.

Some matches reach past the damaged area, like a floor that runs through several rooms without a break. When that happens, we explain it to you and the adjuster with photos, so the scope covers what it takes to make the room look right.

If you want to change something while the room is open, like a different floor or a new vanity, we price the difference in writing. That way you can see what the claim covers and what you are adding.

How the Rebuild Runs

Floors and furniture in the rest of the house are protected, dust is contained, and the work area is left cleaner than we found it. Permits are pulled and inspections scheduled where the town requires them. We carry liability insurance, and proof of insurance is available before we start.

Any change to the scope, including hidden conditions found behind a wall, is priced in writing and approved by you before it is done. If you are paying out of pocket, the rebuild is priced the same way, itemized line by line. Call or text (815) 585-1750, whether we did the drying or you are ready to start the rebuild now.

FAQ

Questions about restoration rebuild

Can you do the rebuild if another company did the drying?
Yes. Send us the photos, the final moisture readings and the carrier's scope if you have them, and we will write the rebuild estimate from there.
How long does a rebuild take?
It depends on how much came out and what has to go back, plus how long carrier approval and materials take. Drywall and paint in a couple of rooms is a much shorter job than a kitchen or a full basement.
Will the new work match the rest of the house?
That is the goal on every rebuild. We match trim, paint and flooring as closely as the materials allow, and if a product is no longer made, we show you the options and price them in writing before anything goes in.
