Seams you stop noticing every time you walk past the wall. In Addison we finish new drywall and redo the taping someone else rushed.
Good taping starts with checking the hang, then bedding tape, covering fasteners and coating every joint three times with sanding in between. That is how we finish new board. We also take on walls where the first job went wrong: tape that has bubbled, seams that ridge under paint, outside corners that crack. Those get cut back to where the tape is bonded, re-taped where needed and skimmed wide until the wall reads flat again.
Addison is on our regular route, between I-290 and I-355, with Lake Street, Army Trail Road and Route 53 getting us to the door. If you bought an Addison house that was redone before it went on the market, the walls may look fine until afternoon light hits them. Tape laid over too little compound lets go, and a seam coated too narrow sits up as a ridge you can see across the room. Fixing that mostly comes down to going wider than the first crew did and letting each coat dry.

Bubbled or lifting tape gets cut back to where it is bonded tight, then re-bedded so it stays down.
Joints that sit up under paint are skimmed out wide on both sides until the ridge is gone.
Inside corners that have split get new paper tape. Dented or cracked outside bead is replaced.
Fasteners that pushed through are driven back, a new screw goes in beside them, and the spot is coated over.
On new walls, every seam gets tape bedded fully in compound and three coats feathered wide.
Re-finished areas are spot primed so the compound does not flash through the finish paint.
We come out, look at the walls under their own light and mark what needs fixing, then write an estimate by room. Once we start cutting out bad tape, we sometimes find more of it behind good-looking paint, and when that happens we show you and price it on paper before going further. Coats need drying time, so the job runs over several visits on days we set with you. When the last coat is sanded, we walk each wall with you and a light held flat to the surface.
