Get a Carol Stream fence with even color on every picket and post, and a deck that sheds water again. The prep, the stain and the coats are written down before we open a can.
We stain decks, fences, pergolas, wood siding and trim, front doors and interior wood. Outside, the work starts with cleaning and brightening, so the stain soaks into the wood instead of sitting on dirt and gray fibers. Failed coatings get stripped or sanded, and loose or rotted boards get replaced before any stain goes on. Then the stain you picked is worked into the grain and back-brushed so it does not puddle.
Carol Stream is on our regular route, and we come in on North Avenue, Gary Avenue, Army Trail Road and Schmale Road. A fence is the job people underestimate, because every picket has two faces, two edges and a top that drinks stain. If your fence lines a yard that backs toward the Great Western Trail or a neighbor, we sort out access to the outside face before the job is booked, since that side needs the same coverage as yours. Posts get extra attention at the ground line, where water sits and wood breaks down first.

We wash off gray surface fibers and mildew, then brighten the wood so the stain takes evenly from post to post.
The inside and outside faces get stained when both can be reached, so the fence does not look finished from one side only.
Where posts meet the ground and where picket tops face the sky are the two spots that soak up water, and they get a heavier hand.
Loose pickets get refastened and split or rotted ones replaced before stain, so old damage is not hidden under new color.
If the deck needs it, its boards, stairs and railings go on the same estimate and get the same cleaning and stain.
Lawn edges, beds, siding and anything next to the fence get covered so the stain stays on the wood.
We walk the fence and deck with you and write an estimate that lists each section, the cleaning, any board replacement, the stain type and the number of coats. Anything we find once the wood is clean, like a post rotted below grade, gets priced in writing and waits for your approval. Washed wood has to dry, so the stain days are booked around the forecast and the dates we gave you. When it is done, we walk it together and touch up any spot you point to.
