A bathroom in Carol Stream that stays dry behind the tile and works the way your household uses it, built by one crew that handles the plumbing and electrical too.
A bathroom remodel is mostly work you never see once it is done: the drain, the supply lines, the wiring and the waterproofing behind the tile. We do all of it with one crew, so there is no gap between the plumber leaving and the tile setter showing up. We tear out to the studs where the job needs it, set new rough-in, hang board, then install a continuous membrane and test it before tile goes on. The vanity, toilet, fixtures, trim and paint go in last, and the room is ready to use.
Carol Stream is on our regular route, reached by North Avenue, Gary Avenue, Army Trail Road and Schmale Road. It is a DuPage County village where townhomes and single-family houses sit side by side, with the Great Western Trail running through. If your bathroom is in a townhome, the drain and vent lines may run in a wall you share with the unit next door, and the association may want notice before work starts. We look at both at the estimate, so the plan respects the shared wall and the paperwork is handled before demo day.

We cover the floors from the front door to the bathroom, seal off the doorway and haul out the old tub, tile and vanity.
New supply lines, shutoffs and drains are set where the new layout needs them, and left open for inspection where a permit applies.
A continuous membrane goes on the shower walls and floor before any tile. Tile and grout shed water, but the membrane is what keeps it out of the wall.
Floor tile, shower walls and a recessed niche for bottles are laid out so cuts land in the corners, not in the middle of a wall.
We set the vanity and counter, hook up the sink and faucet, and install the toilet on a flange we have checked for rot.
The exhaust fan is ducted to the outside, and outlets near water get the GFCI protection code requires.
We measure the room, ask how you use it and write up a scope that lists every fixture, finish and trade step. The written estimate comes before anything is ordered. Once materials are in, we give you a start date and book around the days we said. If we open the floor and find rot under the old toilet, we stop, show you, and put the repair price in writing for your approval. At the end we walk the room with you and run every fixture while you watch.
