Cracked plaster and tired ceilings in your La Grange Park house come back flat and paint-ready, with the dust kept in the room we are working in.
Our crew frames new walls, closes up old openings and hangs, tapes and finishes drywall to a surface that is ready for paint. When a wall is plaster, we look at it before anyone talks about tearing it out, because plaster that is still bonded to the lath can often be skim coated smooth with much less mess than demolition. Where it has let go, we cut back to sound material, patch with board shimmed to the plaster depth, and feather the joint so it does not show through the paint. You get a written estimate before we start, and anything we find behind the surface gets priced for your approval first.
La Grange Park is on our regular route, and the crew comes in off I-294 to 31st Street, La Grange Road and Ogden Avenue. It is a residential Cook County village that runs right into La Grange and Western Springs. Plaster and drywall show settling in different ways: plaster tends to crack in long lines off the corners of doors and windows, while drywall shows popped nails and split seams. Reading which one you have tells us whether the fix is tape and compound, a skim coat, or new board.

We reattach the loose spots, tape the cracks with mesh and skim the wall in thin coats until it reads as one flat surface.
Failed sections come out to sound edges, get a drywall patch shimmed to the plaster depth, and are finished to match.
Stained or sagging ceiling board comes down, we check that the framing above is dry, and new board goes up taped and textured to match.
We frame with straight studs, set the door opening at the right rough size and hang board ready for trim.
The opening gets framed in, insulated where it is an outside wall, and finished so the patch disappears under paint.
Before the board goes up we add solid wood blocking where you plan to hang heavy items, so they anchor into wood.
We look at the walls in person and tell you whether skim coating or replacement makes more sense, then put the scope in writing with each room on its own line. Hidden conditions, like rotted lath or a wet stud, get priced in writing and wait for your approval. Doorways get plastic, floors get covered, and we schedule the days around drying time between coats. At the end we walk the rooms with you under good light before the painter or you take over.
