Walls that look like they were always there, and patches you cannot find once the paint dries. We frame, hang and finish drywall in Carol Stream homes and townhomes with the dust kept in the work area.
Our crew frames new partition walls, closets and bulkheads, closes old doorways and cuts new openings, then hangs, tapes and finishes the drywall that covers them. On repairs we cut back to solid framing, set new board and feather the compound out wide so the patch disappears under paint. Before any sanding starts, plastic goes up at the doorways and the floors get covered. We vacuum sand where the work allows it and clean up properly, so the room is ready for paint.
Carol Stream is on our regular route, reached by North Avenue, Gary Avenue and Army Trail Road, with Schmale Road and the Great Western Trail crossing town. In this part of DuPage County, townhomes and single-family houses sit side by side, and that matters for drywall. The wall and ceiling between an attached garage and the living space usually call for fire-rated board, and a repair there gets the same rated board back. In a townhome, a shared wall can also come with association rules, so we ask about those before we open anything.

New walls are framed straight and plumb, fastened top and bottom, and laid out so doors and trim fit square.
Where code calls for fire-rated drywall between the garage and the house, rated board is what goes back up, taped and finished.
Old doorways get framed in and finished flush with the wall. New openings get a proper header and a permit when the wall carries load.
Wet or sagging board comes down, we check the framing above it, and the new section is finished to match the ceiling around it.
Solid wood blocking goes in while the wall is open, so cabinets, grab bars and mounted TVs have something real to screw into.
Patches are taped, coated and feathered out until they disappear on a flat wall, then primed so the paint takes evenly.
We look at the wall or ceiling in person and leave a written estimate that spells out the framing, the board, the finish level and the clean-up. If opening a wall turns up wet framing or another hidden problem, we show you, price the fix in writing and wait for your approval. Finishing takes several visits because each coat of compound has to dry, and we book around the days we said. At the end we walk the job with you under good light and touch up anything you point out.
