Step into a Romeoville shower instead of climbing over a tub wall. We convert tubs to walk-in showers with low curbs, solid blocking for grab bars and waterproofing that is tested before tile.
For a lot of people, the reason to remodel comes down to one thing: getting over the side of the tub has gotten harder. We take the tub out, set a new drain and valve, and build a walk-in shower with a low curb or, where the floor allows, a nearly flat entry. While the walls are open, we add solid wood blocking so grab bars can go anywhere you want them, now or later. The shower gets a continuous membrane, a pan sloped to the drain and a water test before the tile, and we finish the room with a new vanity, toilet, lighting and paint.
Romeoville is on our regular route, and we get there on I-55, Route 53, Weber Road and 135th Street, on either side of the Des Plaines River. Where a Romeoville hall bath has a standard tub in a five-foot alcove, a walk-in shower fits the same footprint, and the drain often only has to shift a few inches. If a curbless entry is the goal, the floor framing decides how flat we can get it, and we check that from below or by opening the floor before we promise anything. We also measure the bathroom door, since a wider opening can matter as much as the shower itself.

The tub and surround come out, and the drain is moved and re-vented to suit the new shower.
We build a low curb, or a nearly flat entry where the floor framing allows, so there is less to step over.
Solid wood blocking goes in the walls so grab bars anchor into framing, not drywall.
A built-in bench or fold-down seat and a handheld sprayer on a slide bar go in if you want them.
A continuous membrane covers the walls and pan, sloped to the drain and flood tested before tile.
Smaller tile or a textured finish on the shower floor gives better footing when it is wet.
We measure the tub alcove, check the floor and talk through who uses the shower and how, then write a free estimate that lists the curb height, the grab bar locations and the fixtures. Once the materials are in, we set a start date and book around the days we said. If removing the tub shows rot or a bad drain under it, we show you and price the repair in writing before we continue. At the walkthrough you try the shower, the handheld and the seat yourself before we leave.
