Stair rails, spindles, baseboard and doors in your Naperville home finished in an enamel that holds up to hands, feet and vacuums.
This service covers the woodwork in a house: baseboard, casing, crown, window trim, stair rails and spindles, and the doors themselves. Each piece is filled, caulked and sanded before any primer, and old oil-based finishes get a bonding primer so the new paint stays put. Doors come off their hinges when a flat surface gives a better finish, and they go back up once the paint has cured. The last coat is in the sheen you pick, with a clean line where wood meets wall.
We work in Naperville every week, on the DuPage and Will County sides alike, by way of Route 59, 75th Street and Ogden Avenue. If your house has an open staircase, the spindles and handrail are often the slowest part of the job, because every baluster has four faces and a joint at the top and bottom. The handrail takes more hand traffic than anything else in the house, so it gets sanded, primed where it is bare and finished in a harder sheen than the walls. If the rail is stained and the spindles are painted, we keep that split and protect the stain while we work.

Each baluster is sanded, caulked at the top and bottom joints and painted on every face, not just the side you see from the hall.
Rails are cleaned of hand oils, sanded and finished in a hard enamel that stands up to daily grip.
When the rail or treads stay stained, we tape them off and keep paint off the wood you want to keep.
Base and shoe molding are filled, caulked along the top edge and painted with the floor protected below.
Crown, door casing and window trim are painted with a steady cut line at the wall and ceiling.
Panel and flat doors are painted on both faces and the edges, then rehung with the hardware in place.
The estimate starts with a walk through the house, counting doors and spindles and measuring the run of trim, and it is free and written before we leave. You see the prep, primer, sheen and coats spelled out for each area. Anything you add after you sign, like a second staircase or the basement doors, gets a written price you approve before we touch it. We hold to the days we booked, and we finish with you walking the work and pointing at anything that needs another pass.
Call or text (815) 585-1750 and we will count the spindles, doors and trim with you. You get the scope in writing before any work is booked.
