Call or text (815) 585-1750 around the clock and we dispatch to your Carol Stream home as soon as we can. The carpet, drywall and insulation the backup touched come out, and the rest is cleaned, dried and built back.
A sewage backup is not handled like a clean water leak, because anything porous it reached cannot be dried and kept. In Carol Stream we start by pumping out the water and bagging the carpet, pad, drywall bottoms and insulation it touched. Concrete, tile, framing and other hard surfaces get scrubbed and treated with antimicrobial. Then air movers and dehumidifiers dry the space, and we rebuild it once the readings say dry.
Carol Stream is on our regular route, from North Avenue and Gary Avenue up to Army Trail Road and Schmale Road in DuPage County. If your basement is finished with carpet laid right up to a floor drain, that drain is where a backup usually shows itself first, and the carpet and pad around it soak it up before anyone gets downstairs. That carpet cannot be cleaned and put back, so we cut it out in sections and haul it off. When we rebuild, you can pick carpet again or a hard floor around the drain that cleans up better if it ever happens again.

Standing sewage water is extracted from the floor before anything else is moved, so nobody tracks it through the house.
Wet carpet and pad are cut into sections, bagged in the basement and hauled away.
The lower section of each wall the water reached is cut out so the framing behind it can be cleaned and dried.
The slab, studs and any tile are scrubbed, then treated with antimicrobial before drying starts.
Air movers and dehumidifiers are sized to the room, with moisture readings taken each day.
New insulation, drywall, flooring, trim and paint go in once the space reads dry.
We walk the damage with you and write up what comes out and what stays, and the daily equipment rates go on paper before a single machine is set. While the space dries, we write the rebuild estimate line by line in the format insurance carriers use. If opening a wall shows the water went further than it looked, that extra work is priced in writing and you approve it first. When the rebuild is done, we walk the finished basement with you and hand over copies of the photos, readings and estimate.
