Get new counters, backsplash, lighting and paint without tearing out cabinets that are still solid. Downers Grove is on our regular route.
Not every kitchen needs to be gutted. When the cabinet boxes are sound, a refresh replaces the backsplash, counters, sink and faucet, lighting, paint and hardware while the cabinets stay put. When they are not, we replace the cabinets in the same layout and adjust plumbing and electrical to match, or rework the layout entirely. We tell you plainly which camp your kitchen is in, and the estimate covers every trade from demo to paint.
We work across Downers Grove from I-88 and I-355, on Ogden Avenue, Butterfield Road and the streets around Main Street and the Metra station downtown. The town has a wide mix of houses, and the kitchens in them vary just as much. Before we recommend anything, we open the sink base to look for old leaks, check that the drawers run and the boxes are square, and see whether the existing counters are what is holding the cabinets together. That last one matters, because some cabinets lose their stiffness once the top comes off, and you want to know that before a refresh, not during it.

We inspect boxes, face frames, drawer slides and the sink base to tell you whether a refresh makes sense.
Old tops come off carefully, and we coordinate templating and install with the fabricator.
We prep the wall, set the tile, grout and seal it, and extend outlet boxes so the covers sit flat.
A new undermount or drop-in sink goes in with new supply lines, shutoffs and drain.
Under-cabinet lights, a new fixture over the sink or recessed lighting, wired and switched.
Walls, ceiling and trim get painted, and new pulls and knobs go on lined up with a template.
A free visit gets you a written estimate, and for a refresh it lists each piece so you can see what you are choosing. If the old counter comes off and shows damage underneath, we write up the repair with a price and wait for you to approve it. We book the work in order, so the sink is out only between the old top coming off and the new one going in. When it is done, we go over the kitchen with you and adjust whatever needs it.
