Open the kitchen to the rest of the house without guessing about the wall in the way. We cover Darien.
The first question on many kitchen jobs is whether a wall can come out. We answer it at the estimate by checking whether the wall is bearing and what runs through it, such as wiring, ductwork or a vent stack, before we promise anything. From there the job might be a layout change with an island, cabinet replacement in the current layout, or a refresh that leaves the cabinets in place. One estimate covers the whole thing, from demo and framing to tile, flooring, trim and paint.
We cover Darien off I-55 and Route 83, working along 75th Street and Cass Avenue in DuPage County. Split-levels and ranches are common here, and each handles a wall removal differently. In a ranch, the attic above often lets us tuck a beam up into the ceiling so the opening has no drop. In a split-level, the wall between the kitchen and living room can carry ceiling joists and sit right beside the half flight of stairs, so we plan the beam, posts and railing together.

We check the framing above and below, find what runs through the wall, and settle the beam size before demo.
A flush or dropped beam goes in with posts carried down to solid bearing, inspected where the permit calls for it.
Wiring, ductwork and plumbing that ran through the old wall get rerouted, so nothing is left hanging.
A new island gets outlets to code and, if you want one, a prep sink with its own drain and vent.
Where the wall came out, the ceiling gets patched so the opening reads like it was always there.
The strip where the wall stood gets filled in, or the whole area gets new flooring so no line is left behind.
We visit at no charge, look at the wall from the attic or basement as well as the kitchen, and put the scope in writing. Should we open the wall and find a duct or pipe nobody expected, you get a written change with the price, and the work waits for your yes. Before we start, you know which days are loud and when the kitchen is out of service. The job ends with the two of us walking the finished room.
