Call or text (815) 585-1750 any hour once the fire department has cleared your Plainfield house, and we start on the soot, the smoke smell and the water the hoses left behind. Then we rebuild what the fire took.
Fire and smoke restoration starts after the fire department turns the house back over to you. We remove the materials the fire and heat ruined, clean soot off the surfaces that can be saved, and run HEPA air scrubbers to pull fine soot out of the air. The smell is handled at its source: affected drywall, insulation and carpet come out, and the framing and surfaces that stay are sealed. Water from the hoses gets extracted and dried with equipment we check every day, and then we put the rooms back.
Plainfield is on our regular route, reached by Route 59, Route 126, 127th Street and Caton Farm Road, with I-55 along the east side. If the fire in your Plainfield home started on the stove, the smoke often leaves a thin, oily film that you smell more than you see. It coats the inside of cabinets, the range hood and the ceilings in the rooms around the kitchen. We clean what that film only coated, and the cabinets and materials that hold the odor get replaced in the rebuild.

Charred drywall, insulation, flooring and trim come out, and the debris is hauled off the property.
Cabinet interiors, the range hood and nearby ceilings are cleaned of soot and smoke film where they can be saved.
Air scrubbers with HEPA filters run during the work to capture soot particles floating in the house.
Smoke-soaked materials are removed, and the framing that stays is sealed so it stops giving off the smell.
We extract the water, set air movers and dehumidifiers, and take moisture readings every day until it is dry.
Framing, drywall, insulation, cabinets, flooring, trim and paint go back in to match the rest of the house.
We walk the house with you, photograph the damage and write the estimate line by line in the pricing format insurance carriers use. Daily rates for the air scrubbers and drying equipment are put in writing before anything is set up. If your adjuster wants to see the damage in person, we meet them at the house, and anything the carrier's scope missed goes in a written supplement we explain to you first. When the rebuild is finished, we walk every room with you before we call it done.
Once the fire department clears the house, call or text (815) 585-1750. Send photos if you can, and we will tell you what we see and what comes next.
