Cracks over the doors and windows in your Roselle home repaired so they stay closed through the next winter instead of opening up again by spring.
A crack running up from the corner of a door or window, or along a ceiling seam, comes back if all it gets is caulk or filler. We open the crack with a knife, clear out the loose compound and re-tape it, using paper tape on seams and mesh where it suits the repair. Three coats of compound go on, each one wider than the last, and we sand them flat before priming and painting. Holes, dents and popped fasteners get the same cut-back-and-rebuild approach.
We work in Roselle every week, reaching it on Lake Street, Roselle Road and Irving Park Road, with the Metra station near the center of town. Roselle sits on the line between DuPage and Cook counties, next to Bloomingdale, Itasca and Hanover Park. Houses move a little as the seasons change, and the corners of door and window openings are where the drywall shows it first. If a crack keeps reopening in the same place, we look at whether the door is binding or the framing has shifted before we patch, so the fix lasts.

Opened, re-taped and finished so the crack does not show back through the paint.
Loose tape and compound removed and the seam taped again from scratch.
Corners where two walls meet re-taped with paper tape folded into the angle.
Checked to see whether the crack is in the paint or the drywall, then repaired at the right depth.
Damaged board cut out and patched with new drywall or a backed patch.
Repairs primed and painted, with the whole wall done where a touch-up would show.
We look at each crack, check the doors and windows around it, and write a free estimate that names every spot and the fix for it. If we find a framing problem behind the cracking, we explain it, price the correction in writing and only do it with your approval. The work starts same-day when the schedule allows and spans a few visits for drying between coats. Before we leave, we walk each repair with you and point out anything worth watching.
Send a photo of the crack to (815) 585-1750. We come out, find what is causing it and put the repair in writing.
