Text or call (815) 585-1750 24/7 about mold in your Wheaton home. We contain it, remove it, find out why that spot stayed wet and rebuild it to match.
Step one is containment: plastic sheeting around the area and a negative air machine exhausting outside, with HEPA air scrubbers running inside. Step two is removal of the drywall, plaster, insulation or trim the mold grew into, bagged before it leaves the room. Step three is cleaning the framing and surfaces that stay and treating them with antimicrobial. Then we fix the moisture source and rebuild.
Wheaton is on our regular route in DuPage County, along Roosevelt Road, Naperville Road and Main Street near the college, the Metra station and the Prairie Path. Where an older Wheaton house still has plaster walls, mold under a window can come from a leak at the window itself or from winter condensation running down the glass every morning. Plaster and lath hold water differently from drywall, so we take readings through the wall before deciding how much comes out. If the trim or caulk leaks, we repair it, and if the window itself has failed, we tell you so before the wall goes back.

The wall or room is closed off with plastic sheeting and a sealed entry before any plaster or drywall is opened.
A negative air machine exhausts the contained air outdoors for the whole job.
HEPA scrubbers catch the dust that cutting plaster and drywall puts in the air.
Drywall or plaster and lath, insulation and trim with growth are removed inside containment and bagged.
Studs, sheathing and the back of the trim openings are cleaned and treated with antimicrobial.
Exterior trim and caulk around a leaking window are repaired, then the wall is rebuilt with drywall and a skim coat to blend with the plaster around it.
After we see the area and take readings, you get a written estimate before anything starts. The scope names what will be contained, what comes out, how it is cleaned and how the wall is rebuilt, and any daily equipment rates are listed before setup. If the plaster is wet past where the readings first showed, the added work is priced in writing for your approval. We recommend an independent tester confirm clearance, then we rebuild and walk the room with you.
