Call or text (815) 585-1750 at 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the morning about mold in your Elmhurst home. We contain and remove it, then fix the water getting in and rebuild what came out.
A remediation is finished when the growth is out and the water it grew from is fixed. To get there, we contain the area, run negative air to the outside and keep HEPA air scrubbers on through the work. Materials with growth are removed and bagged, and the framing and hard surfaces are cleaned and treated with antimicrobial. We repair the moisture source, then rebuild.
We cover Elmhurst in DuPage County off I-290 and I-294 and along York Road, North Avenue and St. Charles Road, from downtown to the university. If your house has a deck attached at the back, look at the basement ceiling and wall right behind it. A ledger board that was never flashed lets rain run behind it and into the rim joist, and mold grows there out of sight. We remove the damage inside under containment, then flash and bolt the ledger properly from outside so that water runs off instead of in.

The basement area behind the leak is sealed with plastic and a closed entry before anything is removed.
A negative air machine exhausts air from the containment to the outdoors.
HEPA scrubbers run while ceiling drywall and insulation are taken down.
Ceiling drywall and insulation with growth are removed and bagged, and framing too damaged to keep is replaced.
The rim joist, sill and joists that stay are cleaned, treated with antimicrobial and dried until readings show dry.
Outside, the deck ledger is flashed and bolted. Inside, insulation, drywall and paint go back.
We look inside and outside, read the framing and write the estimate before work starts. The inside remediation and the outside ledger repair are separate lines, and any daily equipment rates are in writing before setup. If the rim joist or sill needs more than we planned, that is priced in writing and waits for your approval. We recommend an independent tester confirm clearance, then we close it up and walk both sides with you.
Send a picture of the stain and the outside of that wall to (815) 585-1750, any hour. We will tell you what we think is letting the water in.
