Make the stairs solid, the railings tight and the deck safe to walk on at your Wheaton home, with the whole list priced in writing first.
We fix the things that wear out in a house that gets lived in: a basement stair tread that flexes, a railing that wobbles, a deck board that has split, drywall with a dent from moving day, a faucet that drips. Each item gets its own price on the estimate. If the list is a few items, texted photos can often cover it. If it is longer, we come out and write an itemized estimate. When a repair uncovers more, like a cracked stringer under a loose tread, we price it and wait until you say yes.
Wheaton is on our regular route, and we get around town on Roosevelt Road, Naperville Road and Main Street. The DuPage County seat runs from the downtown near the Metra station and Wheaton College out to neighborhoods along the Illinois Prairie Path, with Glen Ellyn and Warrenville on either side. Wherever the house is, we put safety items at the top of the list: stairs and rails first, then anything letting water in, then the cosmetic work. Winter is hard on decks and front steps, so spring is a good time to have treads, boards and railings checked before you start using the deck again.

Squeaking, loose or cracked treads on interior and basement stairs are refastened or replaced.
Wobbly railings and loose handrail brackets are reset into solid backing so they hold.
Split, soft or loose boards and steps are replaced and fastened properly.
Dents, gouges and holes are patched, sanded and primed for paint.
We adjust hinges and strikes and replace worn latches so doors close and stay closed.
Drips, running toilets and stuck shutoffs are repaired or replaced.
Safety items go at the top of the written estimate, whether we priced your list from photos or walked it in person. Nothing gets scheduled until you approve that estimate. A repair that reveals another one, like a rail post rotted at the base, comes back to you as a written price before we go further. The day is set with you, same-day when the schedule allows, and the job ends with us walking every stair, rail and repair on the list together.
Send photos of the stairs, rails or anything else on the list, and we will tell you what we can price from them.
