A Carol Stream garage floor that stands up to the salt and brine your car brings home all winter, with a 10-year written workmanship warranty behind it.
Our MK Concrete Coatings crew installs polyaspartic flake floors in garages, basements and shops. Every floor starts with a diamond grind, which opens the concrete so the coating has something to grab, and we never acid etch. Cracks and pits get filled, then a moisture vapor barrier epoxy base goes down and flake is broadcast into it until the base will not take any more. We scrape the floor and finish it with a polyaspartic top coat that resists hot tires, road salt and UV.
Carol Stream is on our regular route, and we get around the village on North Avenue, Gary Avenue, Army Trail Road and Schmale Road. It is a DuPage County village, and every one of those roads gets salted hard once the snow starts. That salt rides home in your wheel wells and melts onto bare concrete, where it eats at the surface and leaves white rings. If your garage floor already shows that scaling, the grind takes off the weak top layer and the repair step fills the pits before the base goes down.

We grind the whole slab with diamond tooling so the base bonds into clean, open concrete instead of a sealed or dusty surface.
Pits, scaling and cracks are filled and ground flush so they stay out of sight under the finished floor.
An epoxy base made to block moisture coming up through the slab, which is the layer one-day installers leave out.
We broadcast flake into the wet base until it will not hold any more, so no bare base shows anywhere.
Loose and standing flake is scraped off and swept up, leaving an even texture before the top coat.
The clear top coat is built to resist hot tires, road salt and the UV that comes through an open garage door.
We come out for a free estimate, measure the floor and bring cured flake samples so you can see the colors on your own slab. Your written scope lists every step and the price, figured at $8.50 per square foot with a $2,000 minimum. If the grind turns up damage we did not plan for, we show you, price the repair in writing, and wait for your OK before doing it. We book the days we said, and we walk the finished floor with you before we leave.
