Roselle walls that look smooth after the paint dries, because the cracks and holes get repaired properly instead of painted over. We work on drywall and plaster alike.
Paint shows every flaw under it, so the repairs come before the color. On drywall that means filling holes, resetting nail pops, retaping a cracked seam and sanding everything flat. On plaster it means opening a crack, filling it in layers and priming it so it does not ghost through the finish. Then floors get covered, furniture moves to the center, and walls, ceilings, trim and doors get the coats on your estimate.
Roselle is on our regular route along Lake Street, Roselle Road and Irving Park Road, and the village spans the DuPage and Cook county line. Where an older Roselle house still has plaster walls, the repairs take a different approach than drywall: hairline cracks get opened and filled, and plaster that has pulled loose gets fastened back to the lath. If your house has drywall throughout, the usual list is nail pops, cracks running from the corners of doors and windows, and holes left from shelves. Either way, the estimate tells you what we found on each wall and how we plan to fix it.

Cracks get opened, filled in layers and primed so they stay hidden under the new paint.
Plaster that has pulled away from the lath gets fastened back before it is patched and painted.
Cracked tape joints get retaped and popped nails reset, then everything gets sanded flush.
Cracks running from the corners of openings get repaired and primed, not just filled with caulk.
Each patch is spot primed so it takes paint the same way as the wall around it.
Floors covered, furniture moved and covered, outlet plates off and edges masked before painting starts.
At the free estimate we look at each wall up close and write down the repairs, the products, the sheen and the number of coats for every room. Plaster can hide more damage than it shows, so if a repair grows once it is opened up, we stop, show you and price the extra work in writing before going on. You set the start date, and we work through the rooms in the agreed order. At the finish, we walk every room together under good light and touch up anything you point out.
