A basement slab is where skipping the moisture vapor barrier shows up first, so we never skip it. Our MK Concrete Coatings crew diamond grinds the concrete, repairs cracks and pits, and rolls the epoxy vapor barrier base before any flake goes down. The flake is broadcast to full refusal, scraped once cured, and sealed under a polyaspartic top coat. The same system goes into garages and shops, where the top coat stands up to hot tires, road salt and UV.
Westmont is on our regular route by Ogden Avenue and Route 83, and we work the blocks off Cass Avenue, 55th Street and around the Metra station in DuPage County. If your basement holds the laundry, a workout corner or storage shelves, a coated floor gives you a surface you can mop instead of bare concrete. Concrete sheds a fine dust as it wears, and a sealed floor stops that. If the slab has hairline cracks or old patch marks, we repair them so they do not show through the flake.
We grind the slab with diamond tooling, never acid, for a clean surface the base can grip.

You get a written scope that covers the area, the repairs we see and the price at $8.50 per square foot, $2,000 minimum. A repair we find after the grind gets written up and priced, and we wait on your approval. We work on the days we booked and walk the floor with you after it is ready for foot traffic.
