Bathroom and laundry walls in your Mokena home with tape that lies flat and paint that stays put. We fix the failed seam and point you to the moisture that lifted it.
Tape that bubbles or peels at a seam has lost its bond, usually to moisture or to too little compound underneath. We cut out the loose tape back to where it is stuck tight, re-bed new tape, and finish in three coats feathered wide. In a bathroom we prime with a product made for damp rooms before the paint goes on. Holes, cracks and popped screws elsewhere in the house get the same attention: cut back to sound board, patched, taped, finished and painted.
Mokena is on our regular route, off I-80 and Route 30 and along Wolf Road, LaGrange Road and 191st Street. If the tape keeps letting go over a shower or along a bathroom ceiling, the room is probably holding steam too long. We check whether the fan runs, whether it vents outside or into the attic, and whether it is sized for the room, because new tape under a weak fan only resets the clock. If the fan needs work, we can put that in the estimate too.

Loose tape cut out, new tape bedded in compound and finished flat.
Failed seams over the shower repaired and primed for a damp room.
Fan operation and venting looked at so steam does not undo the repair.
Damp-room seams and soft spots repaired and sealed.
Cut back to sound board, patched and finished in three coats.
Repairs primed and painted in a finish that suits the room.
We look at the damage, check the fan if it is a bathroom, and leave a free written estimate that covers the repair and anything else we recommend. If we pull tape and find soft board or signs of mold behind it, we stop and tell you what it needs, and any extra work is priced in writing for your approval. Drying time between coats sets the number of visits, and you know it before we start. We finish with a walkthrough, and in a bathroom we run the fan with you.
