Trade the gray, splintering deck behind your Glendale Heights house for a new one you can walk on barefoot, with the old one torn out and gone.
When a deck is past repair, we take it down to the footings, haul it away and build new. Old footings get checked for size and depth, and we pour new ones where they fall short. The new frame goes up in treated lumber with a ledger flashed and bolted to the house, and the decking goes on in treated wood or composite. Treated decking needs time to dry before it takes a sealer well, and that staining and sealing is a separate service we can schedule for later.
Glendale Heights is on our regular route along North Avenue, Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale Road and Glen Ellyn Road. It is a DuPage County village next to Glen Ellyn, Carol Stream and Bloomingdale. If your back door is a slider several feet above the yard, the deck has to land at the right height under the threshold, one step down so rain and snow do not run inside. We set the deck height off the door and work out the stairs to the yard from there.

Old decking, framing and railings are removed and taken off the property.
Existing footings are measured for depth and size, and new ones are poured below frost where needed.
Joists, beams and posts in outdoor-rated treated lumber are hung and bolted with proper hardware.
Your choice of board is fastened on joists spaced for that board.
Risers are even, the handrail is graspable, and guards sit at the right height with tight baluster spacing.
Front porch steps and railings can be rebuilt at the same time if they need it.
We look at the old deck, the footings and the door threshold during a free estimate and send you a written scope with tear-out, framing, decking and railings priced separately. Once the old deck is down, if the house rim behind the ledger shows water damage, we write up that repair and wait for your approval. We pull the village permit, schedule the inspections and build on the days we gave you. Before we leave, we walk the deck with you and clean up the yard.
