Walk on a basement floor that feels warm and stays flat, laid over a slab we tested first. Mokena is on our regular route.
A basement floor sits on concrete that pulls moisture up from the ground, so the slab gets tested before we choose what goes on it. Luxury vinyl plank handles a basement well, carpet can work over the right pad, and a subfloor panel system adds warmth underfoot. The walls get the same attention: a moisture check, any drainage or sump work first, then framing on treated bottom plates, insulation, electrical and any bath or wet bar plumbing. Drywall, ceilings, doors, trim and paint complete it, and we handle the permits and inspections.
We work in Mokena every week, getting there on I-80, Route 30 and LaGrange Road, and across town on Wolf Road and 191st Street. A poured slab is rarely flat enough for plank flooring as it sits, so we grind high spots and fill low ones, since a click-lock floor over a dip will flex and open at the seams. If your basement has a floor drain or slopes toward the sump, the flooring layout has to account for that pitch. Full design-and-build basements run under ONIT Restoration, the same company with a crew on basements all day, and ONIT Solutions handles partial finishes, single trades and repairs to a finished basement.

We test the concrete before choosing a floor and before any walls go up.
High spots are ground down and low spots filled so plank flooring lies flat.
We install luxury vinyl plank, carpet over a proper pad, or a subfloor panel system, with base and transitions included.
Walls are checked, and any drainage or pump work is done before framing.
Walls go up on treated bottom plates, outside walls get insulated, and new circuits and lighting go in to code.
Drywall and ceilings are finished, then doors, trim and paint close out the job.
Our free visit covers a moisture test on the slab and walls, a measure of every room, and a talk about how you want the floor to feel. You get a written estimate with floor prep, flooring, framing and finishes listed separately. If the slab or a wall shows something we could not see on the visit, we price it in writing and wait for your approval. We schedule the village inspections and work the days we committed to. At the end we walk the floor with you, room by room.
Your Mokena estimate starts with a moisture reading on the concrete. Call or text (815) 585-1750 to book the visit.
